Thread Starter

Hello to all,

I'm Anton from Philippines. I'm a student/ soon to be. Just recently enrolled in a culinary class in one of the culinary school here in our country. Our class will start on 3rd week of January it's a 14 month program, I'm really excited. I just stumble upon in your forum searching for website, blog and forum that related to culinary and cooking.  I have enjoyed reading through the forums and articles, I will learn a lot from this forum that I think I can apply in the school that's why I decided to join. And looking forward learning as much as I can from this site.

Happy Holidays to all!!

I'm a food writer and photographer in NYC. I cook at home and teach about edible gardening and foraging for edible plants and what to do with them.

Welcome Ton and Marie!

Ton, are you already an enthusiastic home cook? How did you become interested in cooking? Are you considering a career in cooking?

Marie, I'm sure most people outside Brooklyn wouldn't think of a borough of New York City as a place to forage for edible plants, but I have a suspicion you're going to prove me wrong. Perhaps you could start a thread of your own, either here in the Welcome Forum or in another forum (Food and Cooking Questions and Discussions would be a good forum for it). What an interesting topic that would be!

I hope you both enjoy being part of the community. Please remember that the Professionals' forums are "read only" for those of us who are not (or who are not yet) professional chefs. The General forums are open to all, and indeed the pros to post and participate there as well. Let any moderator know if you have questions about the site.
