GROUND MUSTARD.....

Thread Starter

So I have ground mustard in my pantry and I rarely use it.What can I make to use it up?

The obvious answer is to make it into mustard by mixing with water or vinegar (I prefer vinegar and let it stand for a good 15 minutes before using it).

After that

- mixed with olive oil, vinegar and maybe a little sugar as a salad dressing

- mixed with some sugar or something as a glaze for your christmas ham

- make into a mustard sauce for poultry or rabbit

etc etc

There is this real old school thing called 'mustard mold.' It's essentially a less sweet bavarois flavored with ground mustard and vinegar. Good with ham, etc. I've used it as a component in charcuterie plates.

I add it to BBQ sauces, salad dressings, beef soups, and stir fried dishes.
