sugar cookie question

The sugar cookie recipie I have is delicious. But I'm trying to make it healthier. I'm looking to try substituting with applesauce. I've read I can use it to sub the egg, butter and sugar in recipies. I'm wondering if I can sub all of them at once or if I have to stick to one at a time.

Well try it and see if it works. I am a non user of substitutes. IMHO, there is nothing like the real thing. Its either I use the real thing or none at all. Apple sauce is very moist it might make your cookies soft. I can see how it might work for cakes.

Eat less of the 'good' stuff and not more of the crap stuff.

ie.  make a smaller batch or divide and freeze the majority.

Bake off what is sane for you to eat in a reasonable time frame.

Savor and Enjoy - wait a week then bake the next batch!

Everything in moderation including moderation. (you know who!)

Yeah I know. I'm good about most things I make but these are requested at Christmas every year with piped frosting on them. Delicious but terrible for us lol I'm hoping to modify them but so far I've flopped. The last 2 batches went right in the trash. Heavy and tasteless when I used applesauce and egg white. Since I'm not sure what each ingredient does its hard to know what I can and can't replace.

Some things are better off left alone. Like some desserts. I myself hate wasteful baking. Tossing them since they did not come out the same way when normal ingredients are used.

If this were possible or even withing the realm of sane thinking you would find the recipe all over the 'net.
