White frosting for Texas Sheet Cake?

Thread Starter

I've lost a precious family recipe for a white fluffy frosting that uses shortening, butter, granulated sugar, milk and vanilla. Unfortunately, I have no idea in what quantities! Are any of you familiar with it? It's not cooked, but has to be beat for a good 15 minutes to dissolve the sugar. I hope you can help! My daughter's birthday is today and I have to have it finished tonight. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Is it a cooked flour frosting that startes with cooking flour and milk on the stove then letting it cool.. then adding to sugar and butter/shortening? Here's a typical recipe but there are many variations.. Sorry it's too late.
