I would like to store fresh calamari in milk for up to 10 days in the refrigerator. Does anyone have suggestions on how to extend the normal 1-2 day storage time to 10 days?

The oceans are cold. So sealife uses chemistry that is active at those temperatures. Refrigerator temps are right in line with ocean temps most of our seafood lives in so the enzymes and everything in the fish are still active. It's like leaving chicken or pork out on the counter at room temp.
You've got to change the seafood to make it keep. Freeze it, pickle it, dry it, all things done throughout history to preserve the catch.
