Jordan Marsh's Blueberry Muffins?

Does anyone from Boston remember Jordan Marsh's blueberry muffins?  I was a kid when we used to go into Boston to get them and I remember them being very good.  Maybe my tastes have changed, i don't know, but the memory of them is good.  Now Jordan Marsh has become Macy's, and Filenes has become Macy's and we might as well have only one store in the whole country at this point - so much for competition and all that.

In any case, does anyone remember them and does anyone have a blueberry muffin recipe that would be like them?  I'd love to send the recipe to a friend of mine that i used to share these muffins with.

thanks

siduri,

if you make them, can you post a pic?  do you want them blue?  I am always finding ways to make blueberry muffins.. esp with ingredients on have on hand  since most calls for buttermilk.  The recipe is simple enough.. curious what texture these are?  Also, most calls for oil but this is butter...hope they are not dry.  I will book mark this but if you happen to make them, let me know

They were not blue as i remember.  The blue comes if you use defrosted frozen berries and mix them too much once you put the berries in.  I don't really like the blue.  The buttermilk should make them tender and the sugar and butter moist.  i think.

thanks for posting.  I take it you've tried them catbalou?  Are they like the originals?

I remember a thin coating of sugar on top that would sort of melt in.

haven't made them in quite a while. I was searching for the handwritten recipe from one of my mom's friends and couldn't find it. so I googled it. anything I make doesn't taste the same anyways as it's gluten free now. close, but not quite the same. If I find the recipe this weekend and it seems different I'll post it.
