Hi from Seattle

I grew up in my mother's restaraunts and did odd jobs like sweeping the floors, bussing dishes and washing dished until I was old enough to work the front of the house where I got my first and only waitstaff job before my mother fired me. Being the practical woman she was, I was awakened early the next day to hop the "big blue bus' to go to my new job...picking cherries around Spokane. Worked my way through Nursing School by salmon fishing and working in canneries in Alaska for 2 years. Worked the final summer in school managing an espresso and pastry shop in Seattle before "Starbucks" became a household name. Took a cculinary arts course while working in Social Services as an RN and did some catering for private parties and charity fund raisers. My nursing position was eliminated more than a year ago, and I'm rediscovering the joys of the kitchen. Interested in any and all food related stuff. Happy to meet like minded people Oh, I'm Michelle.

Thank you for the lovely welcome. I'm sure I'll learn a lot. I'm hoping to learn how to upload pictures so that maybe I will be able share some of my wins and losses when it comes to home cooking.

Let us know if you need any help with the photos, Michelle. I'm not very skillful with the technical end of things, but I know some people who are. Photo
