What I need to cook on patio?

Spring is here... Or still not?

But, for sure, my wife is kicking me out of her kitchen, to cook on patio. She doesn't like me to make smoke, "smell" and the mess in the kitchen.
On the other hand, I like being outside. I'm programmer and working from home. And if the day is nice I'll work outside, on patio.

Now, I have a problem HOW to cook outside. I would need something like gas stove but I know I can't have it outside. I have charcoal grill but cooking (not grilling) on it for me is Mission impossible, part 8. And, when I say "cooking" I mean making everything. Boiling noodles, soups, fry steak, over-easy egg... Everything.

I just bought Brinkmann turkey fryer. I thought I would be able to use its burner as cook top. But after I assembled it - I don't think it was smart idea.
I was thinking also to buy gas grill but wasn't sure if I can cook on it either? Even if it has side burner.

How do you cook outside? What do you use? Hopefully not those very expensive cooking islands?!?

Thanks for any help.

For most of us "cooking outdoors" means simply cooking on a bbq grill, charcoal or electric. You cook your meats ,fish or fowl on a grill and everything else you serve on the side is premade inside in your kitchen.

There are very few of us who have the means for fancy build-in outside cooking islands .

Every smoker quits smoking sooner or later!

Only the smart ones are doing it while they are still alive.
