About a year ago the big linen co. in the area switched out our towels for these crappy poly-dookie things. At my last job, the owner complained so much that they kept us on the good ol' towels. Now that I've moved on to other pastures, everyone has these crap towels.
Are not absorbent.
Are very thin.
Are very small.
Burn and melt when hot.
I have been burning myself so bad lately. I lost some fish for a ticket last night and screwed up the whole flow on my station, not to mention getting one of the worst burns I've ever had-and it's on the pad of my thumb.
The linen co. has "thick" towels that are like 2 towels sewn together, but these suck too. They are too large to tuck into your apron, and who has time to go looking around for a towel when something's burning in the Sally?-it needs to be on your person!
I would say 75% of these towels get used on the line/in the kitchen for holding hot stuff, so what good are these turds?
Are you forced to use these?
I've got a private stash of "good" towels I've accumulated over the years that I try to bring a couple in with me every day, but sometimes I forget.
Sorry just venting!
