I am 22 I have been working at this top quality steak house for quite some time. A position in management just opened up and I fully no how to run and operate the kitchen and have done it on some occasions in the past. How do I make sure I don't get passed over by the new guy with the fancy resume for the position ?

Dust off your CV, get a list of things you have helped upgrade in your kitchen, check the details and talk to current management to get them on your side, promote team work and leadership. Dont take it hard if your not selected, just the process is good expierence. Look, listen and learn. Everyone has something to teach you even if just by example its something not to do.
