anyone know if the logo is etched or engraved?  if etched, with some elbow grease, can it be carefully sanded/polished away?  The knife seems like a great value, but I got problems with that frumpy lookin' logo.  thanks!

I haven't handled as many Richmonds as Phaedrus, but messed around with a few and do own an Ultimatum.

The half-sunburst marque on the non-Artifex knives is simple, not that large, and isn't unattractive either.  Whether etched or engraved (my educated guess is stamp engraved by striking a die against the blade) the logo is pretty deep into the blade.  Removing it might cause more cosmetic harm than not, or at least take an enormous amount of time to polish out.

I'm not sure about the swoosh marque on the Artfiex.  That one may be etched.

De gustibus non disputandum.  If it's a deal killer, let it kill the deal.
