I'm new to cheftalk and am excited to have someone to talk with about food and cooking!  I am enrolling in a culinary arts program at our local community college and I look so forward to getting started.

Hello Kitchentalk- you've come to the best place on the Internet for discussing food and cooking. Our members are from all across the world, all ages, all levels of expertise, many cultures and cooking styles. I like to say the members are the wealth of Chef Talk.

You probably know we have a forum for culinary students, so you'll want to spend time reading there. Be aware the site is over 13 years old, so using the search tool will net you a great many conversations on valuable topics. (Keep those post dates in mind before you decide to jump into a conversation; it may have ended a decade ago....) Also, because you're not quite yet a professional chef, those of us who aren't professionals mustn't post in the Professional Forums. We're encouraged to read there, but we must post only in the General Forums. Don't worry, though: the pros post there as well, so your questions do get their attention.

We hope you'll explore the entire site, including cooking articles, photo galleries, reviews, etc. and not only hang out in the discussion forums- as great as they are. There are just too many other great things to miss!

Good luck in your culinary education, and welcome to the community.

Regards,

Mezzaluna
