Well, shucks

Just put a small slab of spares in the oven to cook.  Thought I had enough charcoal for the job, and don't feel like going to get more.  And why am I feeling this way?  I had some dental work done a couple hours ago, my mouth still hurts.

Shucks.  Ribs may not be the most enjoyable thing to eat in this condition.  What was I thinking??

Boiling ribs is against my religion, unless I'm making pork stock.  And even then they never actually boil.

Turns out the ribs, as well as the corn on the cob, did not present a problem, I was able to enjoy them with only a mild bit of discomfort once in a while.

I made a Vietnamese dish once, where you first cut the ribs in small bites (cut through the bones) and marinate them in fish sauce and oyster sauce with lots of garlic and shallots, then deep fry and finally simmer (not boil) for a bit in coconut water. That was really good.

I tried to make Ginger-ribs once by first simmering them in water and later finishing them on the grill - that wasn't so good (I prefer just grilling).
