Does anyone have any suggestions on Chicken and waffles recipes? I have a great fried chicken recipe..but I have not done " chicken & waffles " dish. What would be a good gravy for that dish? Anybody have a suggestions for that dish specifically?

Gravy?  I always eat it by splashing a Tabasco like sauce on the chicken and then smothering with maple syrup.

ummmmm

I always thought it was just some fried chicken on a waffle, condiments of your choice?

of course one could always make their own versions :

what about taking chicken tenders and waffles as a sammie? again condiments of your choosing, say some honey mustard or a pimped-out yogurt?

or diced grilled boneless chicken breast between two mini-pecan waffles and extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping?

Wait a minute - there is also another version, not the southern version, but one with stewed chicken.  It is like biscuits and gravy, except with waffles instead of biscuits, and chicken bits instead of sausage.  I remember seeing it on the menu at a place in the Amana colonies where we had lunch years ago.

I have been wanting to do a play on it by making my own waffle cone, then stuffing it with some fried chicken tenderloins.

I may have to try this version, looks like it could be good.

OH MY GRAVY ALL OVER MY TWO SCOOPS OF RICE (that's OMG! in my world)

GRAVY! Creamy chicken gravy, yum!  I could get behind the stuffing, dressing, filling, whatever you want to call it may be a nice addition to the dish and the seasoned fries on the side, just in case you need to mop up any extra GRAVY! u-u-u- sweet potato fries... (oh my gawd, I'm so hungry!)

My DH is originally from Phillie and when I asked him about this Amish chicken and waffles, my dear American-Italian hubby said he knew nothing of this.

We must try!  GAME ON mjb!  licklips.gif

Well, maybe in about three weeks, no white foods yet... dang it!
