I'm looking to buy a used copy of Practical Cookery (for those outside the UK, PC is the cookery/catering bible for apprentices/college learners). At first, I was sceptical about its usefulness, but I flicked through a copy recently and the clarity of its instructions won me over. New copies of the 14th (latest) edition are outside my price range, but I've found much cheaper copies of the 10th and 9th editions. Has anyone got experience of what I'm likely to be missing out on, if anything, with an earlier edition? Is the new content worth an extra £10/15?
Also any discussion on other cookery bibles and the like.
