I see you've already found the discussion threads! It's true we have a good many of them, and they extend back many years. (Watch the dates if you go searching topics; some conversations may have paused quite some time ago.) But beyond the discussion forums we have excellent cooking articles, cookbook and equipment reviews, and photo galleries. If you need help with managing how to do various things on the site, check out the FAQ page. I suggest you take some time to explore the entire site, because there's quite a bit to discover here.
A note about the forums: while all of them are open to us home cooks for reading (indeed, we're encouraged to lurk there!), we mustn't post there. Posting in the professional forums is reserved to those who make their living in kitchens and culinary careers. We can post in any of the general forums, as everyone can. Our questions will be addressed there. It's where the connection with professional chefs happens that really doesn't happen anywhere else, so far as I know. I've been a member here since 2000 and can attest that I've learned SO much from the professionals and other home cooks. My confidence level has zoomed.
