Need Help NECI or french culinary institute

hello i have made a post before but i have a new thread i would like to start i have been thinking over months of what school i should go to and after pondering i have hit a wall and i am stuck on NECI or FCI in new york i have done the math and seen that both have will run me the same amount of money buy the reason FCI to me is more attractive is because the time it takes to finish and the location in new york city and moving back to my home town would be wonderful to me and also would mean more family than going to neci which is huge for me but what worries me is there is no degree which to my mother might come of to her as alarming but i do plan to go to a management school after FCI to major in if i go that way. I was just wondering what anyone else would do. (P.S. i have had experience in the kitchen and i have been accepted to both and thank you for any help)

Hi Chefgoni - 

 

Have you considered the Institute of Culinary Education? It's also located in Manhattan and allows for flexible scheduling—meaning you can finish your degree in 6 months (just like at FCI) if you so choose.

 

Also, if you're interested in Culinary Management, ICE has a program in that as well, and you can do both at the same time. There's even a discount for students who enroll in both Culinary Arts & Culinary Management at the same time.

 

Lastly, ICE is significantly less expensive than FCI, yet is regarded just as highly in the industry.
