Where to find a kitchen?

Thread Starter

Up until now, I have been cooking for my family and friends for years. I have been pushed by my family and friends to do something with my baking passion. So as a result, I have been trying to find a licensed kitchen here in the Western Chicago Suburbs to make my baked goods available at farmers markets. I have called churches, schools, catering company, VFW, and Moose Lodges in the area and have had no luck. What is the best way for me to find a kitchen in my area?  Since I am just starting out, what would be a fair amount for rent - should I try to negotiate anything to be included in the rent? Thank you!

To find a kitchen, check with your local health inspector, they keep up to date on all licensed kitchens.

With regards to rates, I'll defer to Chicago area members.
