Hello my fellow chef talk members. I am about ! week from starting my culinary program at my local community college, and I also have a job at a family ran restaurant as a cook. I was just wondering even if I only have a associate's degree by the time I am done with this experience and my education help me out in getting future job offers. That is if I end up as good as I am hoping.

You should try and go for a bachelor's degree program. Try and learn more about the business side of the industry and have a well rounded education. The more you know the better you'll be.

Hey Calahan,

I personally believe more than an associates for cooking is over kill so I think you are making the right choice. What culinary school are you attending? I would like to add it to our directory?

Thanks,

I am attending West Kentucky Community and Technical College. Its just a close technical college but its been highly recommended and been in the top 10 community colleges the past 2 years!
