Where to begin.

Thread Starter

As the title states, uhh... where to begin? I'm currently running Portsmouth Pizzeria with my Father and we are trying to get into catering. But we don't know how to start. We are already an established pizza place that has been around for 5 1/2 years. We are currently on the approved caterers list at a nearby event center but we have no idea of what to do or where to go. A lot of people ask us for a catering menu but we don't really have one and we don't want to cater just pizza and spaghetti. Any tips and pointers would be very helpful. Ask as many questions and ill try to answer all of them as well as possible.

Thank you,

Sean

Sean, Sorry this post was overlooked.

First what equipment does your kitchen have?

This event center---what sort of parties are held there? Casual, low budget---paper plate --

Nicer ,more important events?

Full blown, linen and china sit down meals?

Do you have any catering experience at at all?

How involved and committed do you want to get?

Do you have storage space and money for the additional equipment that might be required?

A clean van for deliveries?

More info needed--------

I somehow missed this one as well...
That one should definitely be saved into the misspellings hall of fame!!

Sean the first thing you need to do is construct your catering menu--
without that you're stuck in neutral. Generally speaking anything you
can do/offer in your restaurant you can extend to catering.
You may just need a few more items, like transport equipment.
