Kitchen refrigeration

While all our "sales" people have their idea of the best brand of refrigeration, I would like to know what you think. I am in the market for a lot of new refrigeration pieces. I have heard "randell" is the best...true is the worst. Is it true? I'm leaning toward continental, but is Everett better? Any opinions are helpful.

Devil is in the details, brand name is nothing.  Things to look for:

1) Warranty on  compressor. 5 yrs is good, never buy anything with less than 3 yrs

2) Coil.  Should be copper or s/s.  Minimum of teflon coated aluminum.  Never ever get plain untreated aluminum

3) Doors  S/s interior skins. Plastic will chip and crack, aluminum oxidises and turns everything black.  Seals should be robust and repalceable.  Look for robust, intelligent door closers. This is very important, as you know what will happen if the doors don't close properly.....

4) Cabinet  Coved bottoms and corners, much, much easier to clean.  Shelving is the biggie, standards should be robust and not wiggle.  Shelving is always plastic coated wire which is shi**y.  The plastic coating will eventually chip and fall off, the wire will bend sag over time and then the shelf  will  pop out of the standards.  I've replaced most of my shelving with wooden racks .

Castors are nice, makes moving and cleaning so much easier.

Make sure that whatever you buy, you buy from a factory recognized dealer.

You really have to look at the  spec sheets and look at the models in a show room.  Don't pay a single bit of attention to brand names.

Hope this helps
