Take the weight of heavy pot

I've got to pour hot syrup from a 4 quart pot and the weight makes the pot really difficult to control.  Any way to balance the pot handle or use something to take the weight?

Some times using your sink as the place to pour helps---set the object to be filed inside the sink--rest the pot on the top edge of the sink while you tip the pot.

 

If you must do a lot of this---a two handled pot is handy---or simply pour into another smaller pot and then use that to fill your containers.

 

A large ladle could also aid in getting the pot light enough to handle---

I'm going to be pouring a lot of syrup into moulds, so perhaps a second handle or loop on the upside of the pot might work.

What about ladling into a measuring cup and then pouring into the molds?

The syrup is hot and sets up fast; I have to pour as quickly as possible.   There is just too much weight on the wrists to handle the pot effectively and accurately.
