Digital cutting board: board, scale, tablet in one

I hope it's dishwasher safe.

Now, this isn't real, and there are some impossibilities with current material science as astutely pointed out in the comments.

Quote:
Any material that needs to be see through would have to be hard and scratch proof. Otherwise, the screen becomes occluded by the scratch marks. This means that the material has to be harder than the knife. This in turn would dull your knives.

But it's an idea with interesting potential and one I thought the rest of you at Cheftalk would find thought provoking.

I like it very cool. I would not care so much about dishwasher safe though with that.

Thanks,

Make it with a removeable cutting board, and it'll be fine....

That said, I tell employees to put their "devices" in their lockers when at work.  You can text, tweet, etc, all you want on your breaks, but not on my time....

I think it would look cool...but not as cool as that big wood butcher's block I have in my kitchen now! I would miss working with wood.
