Dated an Italian gal that made a side she called a Liege Prn: "A lee zsh".

Consisted of anchovies cooked in olive oil, with garlic, red pepper flakes, lemon zest, minced black olives, dash of white wine and a pad of butter, angel hair folded in to coat and absorb all the sauce and topped with flat leaf parsley and Romano cheese.

Was served with frequency as a side for beef or pork.

Also as an app served room temp with grilled crusty bread, wine and either hot cherry peppers or giardiniera. Absolutely love it.

Any information on the origin / history would be welcome and thanked.

Cheers!

Wow, chris, you took it and ran.  Very nice!

@Siduri; thanks, and what a delicious recipe!

@kokopuffs; english is not my daily language at all, but I thought that "snipped" was a bona-fide verb to handle a pair of scissors. I assume that by now you understand what I meant from the context?

Hey Joey,

thanks for the reply, sadly do not think it a Bagna Cauda, the sauce was always over pasta both as a side dish and an app. A little on the dry side you know not dripping sauce, with very enjoyable Umami hit.

Best,
