Hello from Hong Kong

Thread Starter

Hi ChefTalk,

I am an American living in Hong Kong, and in the past year I've started to really enjoy baking! I used to be afraid of doing anything in the kitchen - once I somehow decided it was okay to put a frozen pizza in the oven with part of the box still underneath it. With that as a formative kitchen memory I've stayed away.

But a friend turned me on to America's Test Kitchen, and by following some of their cookie recipes I've developed a "hunger" for learning more! I'm looking forward to using this community to grow. (But hopefully not too much growth in my waistline.) As you can see I love bad jokes.

Thanks everyone!

...dedication, perseverance, and many nights kept awake focusing on finding out what went wrong with the bake!!!!  :)

Best and I'm a foodie.   I know very little but the little that I know I want to know very well.

Aloha, Welcome Jeff to Chef Talk.

Yup, I’d say that we are pretty friendly bunch.  It amazes me how generous the members are with their knowledge of all things food.  About two years ago, I was searching the `net for an answer to a cooking dilemma, and here I am. I am a died-in-the-wool-foodie from way back before there was such a word, HA!  I had read every cooking magazine and watched each Tv cooking program, now I just come to CT.

Take a lookey-loo around; do keep in mind thought at the Pro forums are read only for us folk who are not employed in the food industries.

Should you have questions in regards to the site itself, you can post those in the Feedback & Suggestion forum.

I hope to see you often, here, as well as at Face Book and Pinterest, that’s right CT has a page and a following on both.

Once again, welcome.
