Birchbox for professional chefs?

Hi

I was just wondering what you people thought about this idea - create a monthly subscription service like Birchbox, but with selected food items (appropriate for delivery by mail) instead of beauty products. What do you think about this idea? Do you think it would be helpful to discover new foods? TIA for everyone's feedback!

Think its a fairly small and saturated market. Most things that are shelf-stable are either not very good, or very expensive. "you people" nice.

I usually have a booth at two trade shows per year and I have had...uh..."contact" with several such companies looking to supply "their" customers with new and exciting products.  When they find out I produce chocolates they are all over me like the only woman at a singles bar.  At first the sales pitch sounds O.K., but then they tell me how lucky I am to supply them for free or at a heavily discounted price that is impossible to cover my costs, things go downhill fast.

From "us people" our feeling is:  Groupon de-ja-vous
