What is the best way to get a chef job, besides obviously going to school? Are there any good job boards/web sites anywhere that you recommend?
Finding a chef job
Your question is a bit vague. The best way to get a chef's job is to be one. You become one after starting as a dishwasher or prep cook and proving yourself. School or not, you need experience. As for job boards, craigslist, classifieds, all the usual places. If your local newspaper has a section devoted to the local restaurant scene, read it to learn who is working where. If you know someone with a cafe or restaurant, ask if they could use some help or know of anyone.
