Guess I need to intoduce myself

I don't think I ever introduced myself before although I joined Chef Talk about a year ago.

My name is Sylvia. I live in Florida with my husband of over 40 years (will be 41 in February) and our two Yorkshire Terriers.

I was born in England and came to the USA when I married my husband, Bruce, who was in the USAF and I met him when he was stationed in England - I tell people that he wanted an inexpensive souvenir that would last him a lifetime so he married me (turned out not to be inexpensive) We have three children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

I have been cooking since I was around 10 years old, cooking classes were a part of the school curriculum. I always loved cooking - at one time I was a Junior member of the American Culinary Federation until they raised the membership fee.  Unfortunately because of RA I am no longer able to lift pans or casserole dishes so my husband has taken over the daily cooking (I taught him!) But we do make cakes together (I put the ingredients in the mixer and mix them and my husband pours it into the pans and puts them in the oven etc) and I have revived my love of making molded chocolates, I can handle the molds etc without help and I have a Chandre Sinsation tempering machine to melt and temper the chocolate. I just got it out after around 20-25 years of not making chocolates. Luckily it still works fine.

Anything else you would like to know - just ask :)

Thanks Mike :) Not so much that my hands hurt, but I have no strength in them. I am afraid I don't know who Berta is  but happy you learned from the best :)
