Don't lose hope. Keep looking for the right opportunity for you. You may have to start back at a country club or institutional setting, then move on from there. 

If you are willing to move across the pond, what about closer to, or up or down the east coast to a more upscale community? A small independent cafe rather than fine dining? 

In any event, your career isn't over until you say it is. Remember, wherever you work, do your professional best. That will always be your strongest support.
