I've been viewing this site daily the past few weeks and finally decided to join. I am looking to grow as a cook and make some delicious meals.
I'm a 25 year old male from south louisiana. I am not a cook by trade, I just love to cook. I grew up around many great cooks of traditional south louisiana cuisine. I have a pretty good handle on cooking these traditional Louisiana dishes, but I want to expand on my techniques to create new exciting (for me) dishes.
Though I have been deglazing jambalaya pots for years, I just learned that this was a "real" cooking technique. I just got my first stainless steel skillet and have been experimenting with pan sauces. I'm having fun but not always success.
I'm looking forward to learning from the community and cooking some delicious meals. I'm not afraid to experiment and am always willing to go outside my comfort zone. I keep a frozen pizza and ramen on hand in case things go awry.
