Licensing and permits

I'm looking to start a catering company in Ohio. I would like some advice on what type of Licensing and permits are needed to legally run the business. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Start with your local zoning authority to see where you might be allowed to have a commercial kitchen.

 

Then the local health department to find out their requirements for a catering license

 

Then the local business license authority for your business license

 

Then the sales tax authorities for a resellers permit

 

Then the fire department will visit you to check fire suppression

 

Oh, it really would make sense to talk with your insurance broker as well.
