Finally to follow a dream ...

Hi! I'm a Mom of 3, married 20 years this week. My oldest moved out last year, my second child is graduating in a year and my youngest is a freshman in high school.

I finally decided after dedicating the last 20 years to them, it's time to follow my dream. I'm starting culinary school in March with a graduation date of September 2015. I love to cook, create and experience different foods so I'm absolutely excited (and yet terrified) to finally start school in something I love.

I live just on the outskirts of Columbus, OH and am looking forward to learning everything I can. :)

So yeah... that's me :)

Aloha, welcome to Chef Talk CarriAnn, and GOOD ON YA'

I admire folks you follow their dreams, I wish you great success.

I'm sure that you've already found the Culinary Student forums; should you have any questions in regards to the site itself, you can post those in the Feedback & Suggestion forum.

Yeah, I'd say it's a pretty friendly bunch here at CT.  I amazes me the generosity of the membership, with their knowledge of all things food, that's why we're all here, right?

I hope that you will visit often and particpate in the conversation, once again, welcome.

Thank you! I've been following the forums for about a month now...I just hadn't posted. I'm fairly happy with the school I've chosen - so I'm excited! And my plans after school is to open a small specialized catering company with one of my best friends. We're going to specialize in dinners, small parties, and small weddings :)

My mother also went to culinary schools when she was 34-35.

She isnt a cook, but needed the course to work at one of her jobs.

Anyway i think everyone has the right to follow their own dreams, and be happy.

I hope you enjoy culinary school, as well as learn and experience as many positive things as possible.

If you have passion, drive, and love the culinary industry along with some work ethic, im sure you will be fine.

GOOD LUCK!!:peace:
