Catering Environment Questionnaire

Hey guys, I'm new on here but in need of your help. First off, I've been working part and full time in kitchens for the last 6 years whilst being a full time student.

 

I study MDes Design Products at De Montfort University and for my 4th year major project I'm looking to develop a new product in the catering and restaurant sector focusing on improving health and safety or improving kitchen equipment. I'm currently in the research phase of this process and any help would be greatly appreciated. Once the project is completed I'll have a fully defined product that may be taken to a design show for the public to view.

reading over the survey / questionnaire, I can certainly understand the lack of participation.

 

past the demographic info, there's no point.

there's no "product"

there's no "product focus"

 

"new product" - and what would that be?

I see where you may be getting confused.

 

Basically this project is being undertaken to understand general problems that chef's have

at work and the restaurant industry as a whole. And to provide evidence that it is a viable sector 

to support a successful product. Once I have established an area to focus on, I will conduct

further research into that area to define a product.

 

Hopefully this explains the purpose further?

I took the survey----you do need to get more focused---

 

essentially you ask,"how are you doing?"

 

And catering?  That is a broad field---and covers everything from carryout food to private chefs---

 

What is your definition of 'catering'?

I'm trying to focus primarily on restaurants but the survey is being sent to

numerous people in the catering industry. Keeping it broad is the intention

at this stage allowing me to understand where to bring more focus to.

I did fill the questionaire out.

 

U.K. english and N.A. english are a bit different. 

 

"Catering" in N.A. refers to having the food brought to the customer, as opposed to having the customer come to food (restaurant, hotel, pub, etc.)

Thanks for filling it out, the answers are really helpful.

 

If there's anyone else who can spend a couple of minutes

to answer the questions, that would be great. My deadline is 

approaching in just over a week and I need as much info as

possible.
