Open invitation for members of "Creative Concepts and Techniques" cheftalk group

Thread Starter

Just wanted to let everyone know about a group I recently created. I've been wanting to focus a lot lately on new techniques, on creativity with presentation/plating and creative ways to transform ingredients and flavors. If you are interested in discussing things like this and hopefully experimenting and providing feedback on experiments I welcome you to join the group and participate!

The group address is here

Even if you just want to lurk, I hope over time some fun topics will come up. Here is a description of the group:

This group is for discussion centering around creative conceptual approaches and techniques. Particularly conceptualizations of dishes, artistic plating, and discussion of some of the lesser used techniques. There are no real constraints; just the idea that we can encourage and inspire each other to reach for new levels in the culinary world.

The monthly challenges have been good for stimulating my creativity a bit, getting me out a rut or two.

This group is still part of cheftalk, just using the groups feature.

Oh, Okay, I found it!

From the Forum Nav box, I got a drop down box

and I hit Social Groups and then

to Creative Concepts and Techniques

GOT IT!  (I'm not as versed in computer-ese ;))

Maybe we should feature this new Social Group to bubble it up?

I'm very interested, and I think this group is a splendid idea.

Wow good sleuthing there K~girl. I just clicked "here" in Eastshore's original post, but I was wondering how else to find the forum.

... not exactly an easy process, it would be great if the Social Groups were a bit more forward into the light so to speak

@phatch or @Nicko is there a way that we can do that?

Indeed, kgirl - I was not even aware that they existed before eastshores started this.

I'm in as well!
My plating leaves a lot to be desired

I just use the "new post" feature to see what is going on in cheftalk and get all new posts from all groups this way

This is definitely true, they are so buried that even after I created the group the only way I knew to get back to it was to navigate to cheftalk.com/groups .. personally I think the groups have killer potential, enough to warrant a top level menu item, perhaps after "Gallery" you could have "Groups"?

Very promising initiative, eastshores! I suspect a lot of foodies being very creative people. After all, doesn't food feed more senses than any other art form?

And I'm another one who never heared of the existence of these groups...

AGREED @eastshores

we shall see how this goes, but I do feel that as a new Social Group it should be highlighted

Once you become a member of a group, a link appears on your profile page for the groups you are a member of.
