Hello From NWFlorida

Thread Starter
Hey everyone. My name's Will. I have been active duty AF for 9 years now. Prior to that I worked as a line cook at such culinary delights(sarcasm) TGIFridays and Carrabbas(I actually like that chain...prob the only one.) I grew up in Buffalo NY where chains are secondary in the restaurant buisness and most dont last...hense why I dream of opening my own little slice of the American Dream.
I came here in search of discussions about the field. Im prob going to do my 20 in the military, but Ive spent 9 dreaming of being back in the kitchen and probably wont stop. Glad to be here. Cheers!

Welcome Will! And thank you for your part in serving our country.

You'll be able to satisfy your culinary cravings by hanging out here often. I'm sure you'll find plenty of threads to interest you, but the cooking articles are excellent as well. Don't miss the photo galleries, reviews of cookbook and equipment, and the many "human resources" you'll come across here. Imagine having a discussion with someone from, say, Chile about what to do with a particular ingredient, then being able to taste those flavors for yourself in your own kitchen. You'll be able to share what you know with someone who is learning the rudiments of cooking, and who will be delighted to be able to put his/her first ever meal on the table for a loved one because of you. On top of that, we put a premium on having civil, good-natured interactions. Imagine that! What a community, and now you're part of it.

We hope you'll take time to look over the entire site and enjoy it all. Do take time to read over the Community Guidelines which are on the FAQ page http://www.cheftalk.com/a/faq. Let us know if you have any questions.

We look forward to your participation in the community and hope to see you often.

Welcome!
