I've never seen one published with american cheese. I'd have to ditto Suzanne, why? ....do you think Americans use this cheese in their cheese cakes (we don't)....or are you looking to get really creative and do something funkie? Make a cheesecake with some maccaroni and half cream cheese/half yellow squares. Or a apple cheese cake and melt some cheese ontop.
Basicly you can add it to any cheesecake sub.ing it in but this cheese would be highly unusual.

No it's not an American thing. I have a friend who says her grandmother made the best cheesecake using American cheese but she is so old she can't remember the recipe. She is suffering from Alzheimer's and suddenly she will make the cheesecake but can't remember how. LOL
American cheese = Kraft Singles? Wouldn't the cheesecake have a funny colour and it's very hard to imagine the taste. I can still enjoy the occasional grilled cheese sandwich made with a Kraft Single, but I can't imagine using it for much else.
