Hey ChefTalk Community,

EMBED AND WIN!!!!

We are really encouraging everyone to use the new method of adding a links to a ChefTalk.com posts which is to "Embed" your links to Cheftalk discussions, articles, or geart. This really helps ChefTalk out from a search engine perspective and we also think the embedded content look a whole lot cleaner and way cooler.

To help encourage everyone to Embed some content ChefTalk is going to give away 25 ChefTalk Coffee Mugs to the first 25 people who respond to this thread by embedding a link to the post where they embedded their content.

Not sure how to embed something here is a quick link to a tutorial (embedded into this thread)

Embed That Thread!

***Disclaimer

- Unfortunately due to extremely high shipping costs ChefTalk can't ship coffee mugs outside of the United States. I am very sorry to exclude our out of state members but the cost is incredibly (like really really crazy) high. Hope you understand.

well i tried but it won't let me embed...

http://sherylcanter.com/wordpress/2010/01/a-science-based-technique-for-seasoning-cast-iron/

Just keeps searching and searching ... finds everything it seems but i'm not looking through a thousand plus pages.

I'm probably missing something... likely simple to boot.

If it helps....
Pulled up the tutorial on my I Pad for easy reference and answered the post on my PC.
Like I said before I am not a reader learner.
The pictures in the example were the key to my success.
Great teachers here on CT.

I guess you can only embed entire threads like this, not single posts to a thread.  Correct?

I would love to join in but just don't understand the concept of embedding something onto this site. I don't blog, don't do Facebook or Tweet! Help?

I do have lovely original recipes of my own - how do I go about embedding them? I do so want o in a mug:) biggrin.gif:rolleyes:

@PotNoodle "embedding" simply means taking content that is already on ChefTalk such as an article, discussion thread or product and instead of just pasting a link in your post you use our embed tool to share the existing resource. You can't embed content that is not on other sites. If you wanted to embed your recipes you would first have to post the in the recipe forum. After that if you were participating in a different discussion on ChefTalk and your recipe was relevant to the discussion you could then embed it like this:

I.E.

Discussion thread about Trifle.

You respond to the threads:

"Blah blah blah... here is a great recipe I posted for trifle hope it helps...."

Trifel recipe idea??

Hope that helps.

Too bad you can't embed a link to a specific post within a thread? Such as: http://www.cheftalk.com/t/71598/what-did-you-have-for-dessert/60#post_410199

@French Fries I noticed that also, and you can't embed a product review just a product. I am sure there will be updates etc.
