Appys

WE are trying some new territory a group in our community asked us to quote an appetizer menu for 200. We would like the challenge because it will open up a whole new fund raising road for us, but we have always done BBQ. So I would like ideas on types of tizers and quantity I would need for 200 people. Thanks Food Bank Freddy

why not do BBQ appetizers?

- pulled pork sliders

- smoked chili poppers

- chicken popsicles

- hunks and chunks of brisket cubes or red hots on a pick

the ideas are endless...

As for quantity it depends on the function, time of day and expectations of the 'group' (it sounds so mysterious)

I think a good general rule is for snacks before meal time 2-3 per person and for during meal time 5-7 per person.

(but the exact size of the item will skew the numbers ie. pulled pork slider = 3 app bites)

Great advice Michael.
Will add my 2cents.
I can guarantee there will be some guests with an aversion to meat or eggs or dairy...
If you do go the Q route (which is IMO perfect as that is what you do, right?) that population will be expecting something more substantial than a crudité tray.
I can also safely say that the carnivores will partake of the veg dishes so might be a good idea to have more than one offering and make extra.

Such an understatement, I have SO been there and done that. And the guests are so sneaky about it,

downright dishonest sometimes. The only semi-sure way is to have the client register" the  veginareeans

with you (caterer) so you know who they are ahead of time.

Hey thanks folks the quantity is "number of selections" and I do like the idea of some from the BBQ I also have a vegan assistant on the team.

But this is why I joined this forum so thank you.

Just to be clear - you need 200pcs or are you serving 200 people?
