Anyone out there that buys meat that's been imported from other countries? Japanese kobe/wagyu, Australian lamb....etc??

I've eaten Australian lamb. It's mostly about the price, not the quality though it's not bad lamb. There is better lamb available right here in the US though it's often sold to more exclusive dining than the home cook can easily access.
http://www.morganvalleylamb.com/Morgan_Valley_Lamb/Home.html is some of the best lamb I've ever had and it's raised close by me here in Utah.
I've had little New Zealand legs of lamb which are quite small and very mild. I much prefer the more local lamb I can get here in Chicago. The legs are larger (older lambs) and much more flavorful. The brand I most often buy sells Midwestern raised lamb from independent family-owned farms that don't use hormones. It's sold in the local supermarket chain. Or I buy lamb from one of the many Halal butchers in the area. I'm pretty sure that is also Midwestern-raised.
