Portable Deep Fryer and Hot Oil

Thread Starter

Looking for advice on transporting warm cooking oil. Does anyone know if there are heat resistant metal containers that would hold warmer oil from a portable deep fryer? I'm only asking since I have an event coming up where I may need to leave the site before my fryer oil has time to completely cool. I'm doing a fish fry so I would prefer to fry the fish and fries on site for maximum crispiness.

I have a fryer with a hose to drain the oil, just looking for suggestions on what type of vessel to drain it into that would be heat resistant.

Thanks!

Try these guys  http://www.miroil.com/filterpots.html

I've used them before - they make it safer in a kitchen - but if you're transporting it off-site be extremely careful.

350 degree oil in the pot means the sides of the pot are now just a tad shy of .... you guessed it ~350 degrees.
