I assumed he took a sabbatical to finish his book, but he hasn't been online even since November.  I do hope he is OK.

He's active over at a coffee board so he seems to be fine, just bored/burned out with cooking. It happens a lot in forums.

Thanks Phatch.  I didn't get any recent activity from googling, was going to look at barrister.com.

I understand the burnout part well enough.  I finished the first draft of a book back in early '10, got annoyed with publishers wanting me to dumb it down, or just steal it from me, not to mention the preditory self-interests screwing up the field, to the extent that I threw it aside for quite a while.  Just now starting to add updates and do some much needed editing, made some good promotional connections and plan on self publishing soon.

I seriously hope BDL eventual, sooner better than later, pulls something together to his liking.  Heck if he just through together his comments here and his own blog I'm sure he'd have sales of a thousand+ just from folks here.

Problem in 'physical' publishing 1000+ is nothing.... now if he were to go the ebook route... he'd be done by now.

(not saying ebooks are bad - it just makes it easier to get the book out - once it's sold xxx ebooks the transfer to print books really easier)
