About candy making

Hi I have recently started making candies at my store, and wondering are there any good books and recipes for hard candies like candy canes or salt water taffee.

You'll want to check out Chocolates and Confections by Peter Greweling, that will have more info then you expect. The saltwater taffy formula is reliable, and it has an extremely long shelf life. As for the hard candies, you'd be amazed at the combos possible with colors and different flavors, whether natural oils or artificial flavors. You can go way beyond then classic peppermint cane. I totally agree, I keep that one in my bakeshop.  All the recipes I've tried from it are winners
