In my restaurant, where the neighborhood can be viewed as not so safe late night, cooks have been robbed of their bag, knife roll and various other items that they typically carry home. I've always made everyone in the company aware of this and we have done a donation pool to help replace some necessary items. The last time this happened we managed to get about $350 for him to replace the necessary items.

I realize this isn't the largest sum of money but it is a start and maybe the restaurant you work for would be willing to help out in this situation.

Im not at a restaurant, im a chef at a adult day car for the disabled its a non-profit that doesn't have a any extra money, i cant really ask them for money for my stuff they have been vary helpful with getting me the supplies i need in the kitchen well not having a lot of extra. and this didn't happen at work, i was parked in front of my house and it was in the trunk out of sight. I'm working with my home owners insurance to get something back but there is a $500 deductible for the insurance claim. and i have already spent $300 replacing some text books for some night classes I'm taking.i still have a winter coat to replace and all my knives too. i have been reaching out to chefs and cooks that i used to work with to see if any of them know any one selling anything that i might want.
