Hello from Baton Rouge!

I grew up in the New Orleans area so I have a lot of foodie blood in my veins. I like to bake and try new recipes. My husband of two years hunts so I'm venturing into wild game cooking though I usually leave that to him as he's been cooking with it far longer than I.

 

I cook for my 8 month old baby girl and love watching her experience new flavors and textures. Sweet potato pancakes were on the menu this weekend and she ate the right up! I am also Insulin Resistant and have a few diabetics in my family so I'm always on the lookout for different ways to cook healthy. 

 

I'm also interested and discovering the science of baking so I'm looking forward to learning lots of things here. Thanks!!!

Aloha, Welcome to Chef Talk.

Yup, I’d say that we are pretty friendly bunch.  It amazes me how generous the members are with their knowledge of all things food.  I was doing to same as you about two years ago, searching the `net for an answer to a cooking dilemma, and here I am.  I would have to say though I am a died-in-the-wool-foodie from way back before there was such a word, HA!

Take a lookey-loo around; do keep in mind thought at the Pro forums are read only for us folk who are not employed in the food industries.

Should you have questions in regards to the site itself, you can post those in the Feedback & Suggestion forum.  You may try the search bar at the top of the page for topics that you have interest in, as Chef Talk has been around for almost 15 years, many many many discussions have been beaten to within an inch of life.
