flour conversion

i have my husband's mother's cookbook. i want to make him a cake but all her recipes call for all purpose flour. all i have is self rising. is there a conversion?

All purpose flour is plain flour, not self raising.  If your recipe require you to add baking soda and use all purpose flour you should be ok by using self raising flour on its own instead!! fingers crossed!!
