So i'm totally baffled about where i stand with my experience, all the apprenticeships near me are level 2 NVQ but 99% of them are expecting people to do everything and some of them are only for the finance and stock side of it but i don't want to do the finances and i can't even do the ones with so much to do for 1 person, i have skills in Basic Food Preparation and Cooking Skills and i've only been training in cooking a small selection of meals and preparing a small selection of ingredients, mostly just vegetables, i can't find any apprenticeships that train at my level of experience, it's a nightmare... I'm constantly being trapped in between my experience and the positions available, i can't get any more training from my local college ether as ether they won't let me or there isn't any courses for over 18s in Catering. I was told most people over 18s (Adult Learners), go for NVQs but i can't do the NVQs because they want someone who already can make a wide selection of things, that isn't fair at all... and it's only level 2, i think they are just expecting to get someone with good skills to pay them less... i don't know what i'm going to do again... soon as i think i've got some where i'm back to square 1.
