What's cooking this weekend?

We're having friends over Saturday for "Greek Easter" - roast leg of lamb, grilled octopus, green beans, skordalia, spanakopita, salad and for desert yogurt with strawberries, lemon zest and Greek style honey sauce.

Sunday it's next door for ham and whatever anyone brings.  I have some nice boudin noir for us guys and a duck to roast.  Should be ready to start that new diet Monday -

I'll take some of that duck!

DH is working on Sunday, so we are having dinner out tonight with my mother, YAY!  I don't have to cook again!  I mean, aw shucks, I don't get to get all stressed out over making a huge meal for only three people, shopping, prepping, cooking, clean up, all done by myself!  oh wait, then you have to make sure that the house is 'white glove' clean on top of that, awwww shucks!

I was going to say nothing special about food this weekend for us, but there will be a minor departure from the norm. I don't normally do desserts, but tomorrow evening I plan a lemon curd with blueberries and whipped cream.

Sounds good - here are the appetizers - Skordalia, olives, Octopus in a smoked paprika vinaigrette and compound butter for the sliced baguette in the oven.  This is before the roast beets arrived.  I didn't get a pic of the lamb or the desert though - doh!!!

And some eggs we colored in between courses -

And the grand kids - I gave the little guy some octopus and he scarfed it down and asked for more - :thumb:

Cooking for my folks and their next door neighbors, they are all in their 80's and want what they want.

No mushrooms, onion, peppers, fish or anything green for the neighbors, anything goes for the folks as long as its traditional for the holiday and is full of carbs and sugar!

So, were having baked ham, scalloped potatoes, maple whipped sweet potatoes, glazed carrots, fruit salad & strawberry rhubarb crisp.

@chefbuba the folks always want what the folks want, and you're such a great son to provide it for them! :thumb:

didn't get photos, we took mother out to a 'nice steakhouse' and I haven't been shocked by the hubs in years...

he ordered escargot for the table and liked it!

the rest was pretty standard stuff on our ticket, prime rib (for the mister), filet oscar (mom's plate) and atlantic lobster tails (for me), a ceasar salad, a spinach salad, veg of the day, twice baked potato and carrot cake with coffee and oh a bottle of nice wine, of course... all shared at the table and we had to waddle away to the car!
