Insurance

Was there ever a time you did not have medical insurance as a chef? If so how did not having insurance make you feel on a day to day basis? And what did you did. Did you decide to buy insurance? If you did/didn't do you regret buying/not buying insurance.

I've never had insurance as a chef.... That's what duct tape and super glue are for.

Except for a brief 4 years about 40 years ago and since 2005 (MediCare) I never had nor needed medical insurance

At the oppisite end of thing health, and insurance wise, except from 83 to 85, my 18 to 20 years, I have had health insurance. Ive needed it plenty of times and was always glad I had it. I guess its one of those things that you never miss until you need it. I will say that if you are going to have children then it is a very important thing to have.
