Good evening
iv been toying with the idea of getting some chef jeans designed and made for myself for a number of years now as I feel better working in jeans but im been told now I cant wear jeans so this has made the decision to get them made easier. I will be getting a vented crouch pen pocket all the normal bits on them. I was just wondering how many of you profer to work in jeans than the norm chef pants?

I knew a guy that loved to wear jeans on the line... I fired him.

I worked at a private country club and wore jeans. The other cooks didn't like it. The Chef and GM never told me not to. Looking back, I would say that it depends on your location. Where are you working, if it's a casual affair, say a county fair or a street cart; then ok. But if you are working in a professional environment, then in my opinion, the appropriate attire should be worn; for many reasons.

I can't fathom why anyone would want to wear jeans in a restaurant kitchen.  They're hot and uncomfortable as hell compared to pants from Chefwear or the like.
