Hello from Austin Texas

Thread Starter

Good Morning,

I hail from Austin Texas (really more like 25 miles north of downtown Austin)  Originally from Phoenix by way of AL, FL, SD, NC, Germany, and TN, we moved to Austin in 2012.

While an at home cook, I like to throw a party here and there.  My full-time 'job' is writing a business plan to open a commercial rental kitchen in my area.  I've run dining halls in the Air Force for 8 years and feel at home in the kitchen environment.  I want to open a business that helps others have a successful business. (that's my 15 years of non-profit work speaking)

I look forward to reading the forums, getting to know the 'culinary' persona and how I can incorporate this into my business.

Welcome to Chef Talk Jen.

I’m sure that you’ve already found that the membership here is from all around the world, with skill levels varying from Professionals to Home Cooks and everything in between.

Feel free to join in any conversation or start your own relevant thread.  You might want to utilize the Search bar at the top of the page, as many topics have been discussed previously.  The Articles, Reviews and Galleries are of note as well.  Should you have questions that are not addressed in the FAQ, Tutorials or Community Guidelines, please feel free to post those in the Feedback & Suggestion forum.  Please stop by cheftalk.com at Face Book and Pinterest, cool stuff there too.  It's all about food and the sharing of it in all ways.  I hope to see you around the boards.

Let me add my welcome too!

I have an increasing interest in Austin since my nephew was recently accepted at U-Texas there and will start in the fall. We've never visited the area, but will dig deep into the culinary scene to make the most of our visits there when we do. I look forward to your participation in the community!
